Remember how I said that today was so lovely that Jack and I spent the whole day in the sun? Well...come tomorrow getting on and off that bike will be a REAL adventure. My skin feels two sizes too small! At least the chills have stopped and I'm trying to console my burned body with the idea that this will turn into a beautiful tan in three or four months! :) Jack fared somewhat better and will look bronzed and wonderful by morning, but I will remain Laura, the red-faced Michigander for a while, I'm afraid. I will do my best to stay out of Ken's wedding pictures!
We spent part of our evening with the owners of this resort and think we've sold them on the motorcycle rally idea. Those of you with bikes, how does a road trip to Idaho sound in a couple of years?

there must be some UV vortex in the northwest tuned to the frequency of your skin only ma.
Glad to hear the weather gods were kind enough to shine some rays down upon your face.. get yourself some aloe for those burns and while your at it maybe some sunscreen??? Where did you guys cross the Mighty Mississippi without being swept away??? We have had MORE than our fair share of rain around here too! I have to hand it to you...Don't think I would even want to go that far on a bike...though it looks like your having a great time and the pictures are just beautiful!! I think that once you get there you should do an all day thing at a spa with a real good massage to get some of those kinks out!!! Will talk again Mike and Laura
Ben - I'd love to blame it on something out of my control. Unfortunately, I think I'm just an idiot. I KNOW how I burn and that I'll pay for sun worship, but it's something like labor - you forget how bad it is, so you end up doing it again! :)
Miss you, Bunny. xox

Mike and Laura: The spa idea sounds like heaven about now! Of course, I'd slide right out of my skin if anyone tried to rub my burn at this point :) We crossed the Mississippi at LaCross, WI. The water was very high (see some of the pics in the slideshow from June 9-10), but we only ran into one washed out bridge. The bridge over the Mississippi was just fine. The bike ride has been wonderful. The 'Wing is handling well even in very windy conditions and Jack's driving has been great. We're keeping our fingers crossed for continued luck in that regard!
Thanks for the responses - keep 'em up. We LOVE to hear from ya.
