(The trip will not be the only adventure this summer - just figuring out how to do this blog will be a challenge! Bear with us and feel free to offer constructive criticism - we need all the help we can get.)
20 days to departure...
We've just made a few important purchases for the trip: a camping table and chairs, a small heater (dear GOD, I hope we don't need that often...), a grill, and two sporks. What more do we need?
I've taken my motorcycle course, passed the range test, and promptly failed my Sec'y of State written test. The questions were tricky. The wording was deceptive. The sun was in my eyes. Yes, yes...I know. However, I will give it another shot this week. I want to get that endorsement before we go in case Jack can't drive while we're gone and we're stranded somewhere. And there are bears. And it's cold and dark. And the GPS isn't working. And...AHHHHHHhhhhhhhh...Whose idea was this trip?!
Seriously. We're going to be just fine. Can't wait for the adventure (and the pie. Did I mention the pie?)
Leave us your thoughts, your encouragement, and your good advice (so later you can say, "Told you so...")

what's up with the pie?
Please let me knows what you need for your trip. I may have things to lend.
Pie. MMMmmmm, pie...
Jack and I did a "barbecue taste test" on a trip down south a couple of years ago and plan to do the same with pie on this trip. I know, I know...why pie? My answer: why not? I can't think of a regionally specific food since we'll be covering such a large area this summer, so pie gets the nod.
Hey, I finally got through! Whew!
Laura, did you pass your Sec. of State test yet? Your're right. Jack needs a back-up. Besides, if you are like me with a snowmobile, I like to drive and be in the front sometimes.
As I emailed you, Jack, I'm excited for you guys, but I am a little nervous for your safety (just the sister in me!) However, I think it is awesome what your are doing! What an adventure! One that you will always remember as one of the best, if not the best, trip in your lives.
So glad you have a blog. We'll be following you all along!
Love you guys!
Jeff and Jo Ann
I don't know if you received my last comment today, so I will say it here. WOW! It looks like fun. Where are you now? I miss you already. Love Kim
